  • Overview

    Responsible for maintaining and increasing sales and profitability of the retail store while ensuring the highest standards of quality service, cleanliness and adherence to GPI policies and operating procedures are met.  Assists Store Manager in assuring that all retail sales transactions are completed in a friendly and correct manner.  Assist in leadership of retail store staff. 


    1. Manages retail store performing all management and sales functions in the absence of Manager.  Assists in the profit and loss and daily functions of store: a) sales; b) cost of sales; c) inventory; d) labor; e) guest service; f) inspections 
    2. Provides ongoing training for all employees. 
    3. Ensures accuracy of time record.
    4. Supervises employees to ensure efficient and productive job performance. 
    5. Responsible for following federal and state policies and regulations for selling alcohol in a responsible manner.
    6. Receives and verifies all shipments from central warehouse and direct shipments to store. 
    7. Verifies quantity, quality and damages, and reports all discrepancies. 
    8. Displays merchandise in an appealing fashion that will tend to increase sales.    Keeps displays filled and attractive. 
    9. Maintains adequate inventory in store by ordering from warehouse and direct vendors. 
    10. Ensures that all store security policies are enforced. 
    11. Confers with Location Manager to remedy security concerns, or employee problems.  
    12. Assists with physical inventory at mid-season and close of season.  
    13. Responsible for ensuring the daily balancing of cash and depositing receipts. 
    14. Responsible for vending machines and reports, where applicable. 
    15. Enforces all Company policies and regulations. 
    16. Performs other duties as assigned. 


    • Previous retail experience required.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of merchandise costs, labor costs and controls.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous display experience and cash register operating experience.
    • Must possess ability to receive deliveries, stock shelves, and lift heavy items in safe manner.
    • Must possess ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of management.
    • Must be courteous and friendly in dealing with customers and co-workers. 
    • Successfully completes alcohol sales & service training.

    Work Environment

    • Gift Shop or Camp Store environment.
    • Job requires working long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Job requires repetitive motions, lifting of upwards of 50lbs. and continuous standing and walking.
    • Non-smoking environment.
