  • Overview

    Ensures highest quality standards of housekeeping are maintained for our guests. Responsible for stripping rooms, delivery and transport of linens, restocking of housekeeping closets and supplies, and any errands or requests for Housekeeping team. Also assists room attendants in cleaning and heavy duties connected with the upkeep and readying of guest accommodations, inclusive of daily guest room and public area cleaning including making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, etc. Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary. 


    1. Arrives to work on time and in proper uniform.
    2. Performs any combination of tasks to maintain hotel guest accommodations and public areas: picks up used linens and sorts and prepares for linen truck;  receives clean linens from linen truck daily and assists in unloading; checks amounts and transfers load per required pars to the various linen closets and central linen room; picks up trash from wastebaskets or receptacles in guestrooms and hauls to trash area for compactor truck pick up; and properly stocks linen closets and housekeeping carts with needed linens, cleaning and room supplies.
    3. Does the heavy cleaning in rooms, porches, walkways, and hallways and may be assigned cleaning duties in employee dormitories and recreation rooms and public restrooms.
    4. Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner, brushes, and shampooing machines.  Washes and polishes floors by hand or machine. 
    5. Will assist room attendants with room make-up and cleaning when primary tasks are completed.
    6. Receives and checks-in housekeeping supplies from the Laundry/Warehouse truck and signs for receipt. 
    7. May wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal work, windows and venetian blinds.  May hang draperies.
    8. May assist with set up of rooms for conventions, sales meetings, banquets and social functions inclusive of decorations, amplifying equipment, furniture and other apparatus.
    9. May be required to provide turn down service in the evenings.
    10. Will assist with lobby porter functions when required.
    11. Renders assistance to guests in line of duty.
    12. May be part of the GPI safety committee and emergency response team.
    13. Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.
    14. Assists in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary.


    • Must possess a valid US drivers license.
    • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
    • Demonstrates commitment to the quality Housekeeping Standards learned during training.
    • Must be organized, with an eye for detail and able to multi-task.
    • Must complete mandatory training provided by Housekeeping Manager, Asst. Housekeeping Manager, Lead Room Attendant or other housekeeping representative, that will include the review of Housekeeping Manual, and the understanding and training in HOW-WHAT-WHEN-WHY use of approved/authorized detergents, chemicals in the daily cleaning of guest accommodations, bathrooms and public areas.
    • Must be able to relate with guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to handle guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner.

    Work Environment

    • Guest accommodations and public areas of a Hotel/Motel, in a National Park setting.
    • Job requires constant walking, bending, lifting, stretching and moving, including climbing staircases.
    • Position will require frequent lifting in excess of 25lbs. and occasional lifting over 50lbs.
    • Non-smoking environment.
