  • Overview

    The position of Dining Room Attendant includes working in a variety of roles in the Dining & Bar area. Will assist with hosting, bussing tables, running food & beverages and assisting with events.  Maintains high quality standards in regard to guest service, sanitation and safety.  Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary. 



    1. Reports to work on time in a neat and clean uniform. 
    2. Obtains instructions from manager at the beginning of the shift. 
    3. Greets and attends to guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
    4. If working the register, collects currency, makes change and gives receipt with every transaction.
    5. Busses and resets tables as needed and keeps tables neat and clean throughout service. 
    6. Keeps all water and beverage glasses filled as needed or requested. Provides guests with proper utensils and condiments.
    7. Assists with events or banquets according to GPI standards and schedules.
    8. Takes part in all sales goals and incentive programs. Greets and informs guests of promotions and makes yes-yes choices available to the guest.
    9. Participates in on-going employee training and accepts coaching and feedback professionally.
    10. Maintains standards of appearance, safety and sanitation on a daily basis. 
    11. Handles guest concerns in a professional manner and takes fast and appropriate action to solve problems.
    12. Responsible for following company policies and regulations for serving (alcoholic) beverages in a responsible manner.
    13. Maintains effective lines of communication between Management, Kitchen, Bar and Event staff.
    14. Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.
    15. May be assigned shifts working with Events team for setup, serving, bussing, bartending, etc. of wedding and other group events at the hotel. 
    16. Assists with other responsibilities as requested.



    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Hospitality POS systems (ALOHA) experience desirable. 
    • Must have good table service skills.
    • Must have knowledge of register accounting.
    • Strong interpersonal skills required. 
    • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
    • Must be team-oriented positive and upbeat.
    • Able to handle guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.
    • Must be able to work varied shifts.
    • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits. 

    Work Environment

    • Dining Room, Bar, and/or indoor/outdoor event space at a hotel in a National Park setting.
    • Job requires constant walking, bending, the frequent use of stairs, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs. , and repetitive motions.
    • Position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, split shifts, etc.
    • Non-smoking environment.
