    Position Summary

    The Director of People & Culture leads a high-energy team to plan, organize and execute all aspects of the GPC people & culture functions.  This includes designing and delivering on a solid recruitment strategy for both year-round and seasonal roles, on- and off-boarding of staff, delivery of training & development programs, evaluation of compensation, perks & benefit plans, internal communications, and effective collaboration with members of the GPC leadership team to ensure the ongoing growth and success of the business.  The P&C Director is a key member of the leadership team who brings a creative and enthusiastic energy that fosters a culture of inclusion, connectedness, engagement, hospitality, creativity and quality.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead all aspects of the GPC People & Culture department, including but not limited to:
    • Sourcing & recruiting, hiring, coaching, training, budgeting and forecasting, policy development and alignment, report generation, performance management, compliance, safety, benefits and perks, collaboration and ongoing leadership development
    • Ensure delivery of quality internal and external communications related to people & culture
    • Provide expert mentoring and support to other GPC leaders and staff
    • Creation and cultivation of a highly-engaged and connected workforce, tied to Pursuit values

    Qualifications

    Ideal Experience and Behaviors

     

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Human Resources / People & Culture leadership role, preferably in hospitality, restaurants, theaters, hotels or resort environments.

    • Experience developing and delivering annual budget models and business plans that articulate a forward-looking strategy to support and grow the business through effective people management and cultural design.

     

    • Experience working in a diverse team environment, including support (shared) services or matrix models.

    • Experience handling staff relations issues (the good and the bad) with professionalism, creativity, calm demeanor and balance.

    • Fundamental knowledge of US state and federal labor law, general wage & hour laws, compensation models and variable (bonus) pay plans. Familiarity with Alberta, Canada labor law and wage & hour law a plus

     

    • Highly organized, adaptable, flexible and curious; Comfortable speaking up and working as a member of a highly-engaged and collaborative team.

    • Clear and well-organized communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal.

    • Strong attention to detail.

    • Strong knowledge of, and experience using MS Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and solid knowledge of P&C-related Social Media tools.

    • Experience managing private and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

    • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.

    • Willingness and ability to relocate to Montana, including eligibility to work legally in the United States, and ability to travel back and forth into Canada; Hold a valid driver’s license and Passport.
