  • Overview

    The Event Staff work in a variety of roles, primarily assisting in special events indoor and outdoor for both the front and back of house, as needed. When no events are being held, Event Staff assist with dining room, lounge service, at coffee bar, in kitchen or in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary. 


    • Reports to work on time and in proper uniform.
    • Obtains BEO (banquet event order) instructions from manager at the beginning of the shift.
    • Assists with all aspects of set up and tear down of events. Includes tables, chairs, linens, table settings & display, chafing dishes, event service and general clean-up.
    • Works closely with Event lead, Chef and Event team members to ensure that all aspects of event are prepared and set up in a timely manner.
    • When working in dining room, or bar; busses and resets tables as needed and keeps tables neat and clean throughout service, keeps all water and beverage glasses filled as needed or requested, runs or serves food.
    • When working at Coffee bar; Serves coffee/espresso drinks to guests, in a friendly and outgoing manner. Maintains effective portion controls in the Espresso area using established pouring methods. Keeps Espresso area neat and clean throughout service.
    • Collects currency, makes change and gives receipt with every transaction.
    • Provides guests with proper utensils and condiments.
    • Responsible for following company policies and regulations for serving (alcoholic) beverages in a responsible manner.
    • Fills out all paperwork required at events and turns in to appropriate individual.
    • Must be flexible with schedule; multi-tasks and works well under time constraints.
    • Takes fast and appropriate actions to solve problems.
    • Quickly handles guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner.
    • Maintains proper sanitation & safety practices at all times.
    • Maintains effective lines of communication between Management, Kitchen, Bar and Event staff.
    • Obtains cash drawer from dining room manager at beginning of shift and verifies money in drawer. Also, responsible for running end of shift reports, counting out drawers, and making deposits.
    • Participates in ongoing employee training.
    • Adheres to all Company policies and regulations.
    • Assists with other responsibilities as requested.


    Ideal Experience

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Previous Event or Banquet experience preferred.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in a food & beverage position preferred.
    • Hospitality POS systems experience desirable.
    • Must have good table service skills and demonstrate understanding of proper service standards.
    • Strong interpersonal skills required.
    • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
    • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.
    • Able to handle guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.
    • Must be able to work varied shifts.
    • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits.

    • Must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a solid attention to detail.
    • Must bring a keen eye for detail, organization, safety and cleanliness to improve GPC front-of-house culinary operations.

    Work Environment

    • Dining Room & Bar at a hotel in a National Park setting.
    • Indoor/outdoor event space.
    • Job requires constant walking, bending, the frequent use of stairs, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs., and repetitive motions.
    • Position will require working with food & beverage products that may include; machinery, cooking & food prep equipment, coolers & freezers, and eco-friendly cleaning chemicals.
    • Position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, split shifts, etc.
