  • Overview

    Orders, receives, stores and distributes perishable and non-perishable products for the assigned location. Maintains a neat, clean and organized storage area. Must work efficiently and adhere to all Food safety and HACCP, sanitation regulations and requirements. Assists in food production, cooking, employee dining room and all other kitchen areas as assigned with other responsibilities as required.

    Responsibilities

    • Reports to work on time in required uniform.
    • Orders and receives perishable and non-perishable products from food distributors/vendors and warehouse.
    • Keeps order of storeroom, walk-ins and freezers organized and clean according to inventory sheets.
    • Rotates stock with oldest date issued first; first in, first out.
    • Fills out completed requisitions, transfer sheets and other paperwork in a timely manner.
    • Keeps storeroom areas clean and safely organized.
    • Assists in all monthly or bi-monthly inventories.
    • Maintains effective lines of communication between all departments to include kitchen, dining room, bar, warehouse, employee dining room, location management and support staff.
    • Completes GPI sanitation & training programs and complies with all health and safety codes in handling and storage of all kitchen items.
    • Adheres to all GPI company policies and regulations.
    • Works with the Chef and EDR manager to ensure required products are ordered accurately and efficiently, rotated, and stored properly in designated areas.
    • Set-up and maintain pull-thaw cycle for ALL kitchen operations.
    • Complete weekly/daily food and supply orders.
    • Receives all orders being delivered to the kitchen and maintains invoices, returns, credits and transfers within all departments.
    • Completes all transfer forms and ensures all invoices are submitted in a timely fashion.
    • Assists with a variety of kitchen tasks such as prepping, production, set up, food service, break down and clean up as required.
    • Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, glassware, tables, refrigerators, deep fat fryers, ovens, ranges and all other work areas in accordance with sanitation regulations.
    • Assists with other responsibilities or in other departments as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Ideal Experience 

    • Food ordering and inventory experience highly preferred.
    • Knowledgeable in food pack sizes, safe food storage and rotation and ability to manage inventory controls.
    • Efficient knowledge and understanding of food costs, accounting, inventory/supply ordering, receiving and storage; issuing refrigerator temperatures, portion control and product awareness.
    • Previous professional kitchen experience required.
    • Must have knowledge and understanding of all current accepted food safety and sanitation requirements.
    • Have or have the ability to gain a servsafe certification or foodhandler certificate for the position. This position must attend food safety classes, safe food handling, and execute proper HACCP controls.
    • Thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP controls highly preferred.
    • Must be able to multi-task, time management and work effectively under pressure at times.
    • Must be able to meet strict time deadlines for purchasing and inventory management controls.
    • Strong interpersonal skills required.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in all manner of interaction.
    • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.
    • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with management, co-workers and vendors.
    • Must be respectful of diversity and possess the ability to work effectively with all experience levels of staff
    • Good organization and time management skills required.
    • Must know how to do relative math functions to effectively perform this position

    The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Montana and must be eligible to work in the United States.

    Work Environment

    • High volume Kitchen/EDR production in a hotel setting. 
    • National Park setting.
    • Climate control equipment may or may not be present.
    • Position requires working in varying degrees of temperature, including within coolers and freezers.
    • Position requires sharing space and equipment with other kitchen personnel.
    • Job requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, occasionally to frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
