  • Overview

    Plans and administers sales policies and programs that foster and promote the growth of weddings, events, hotel & banquet space, and group patronage.

    Manages existing contracts, acquires new business contracts and develops relationships with clientele. Responsible for Management and growth of the following market segments: Weddings, Events, Other.

    Assists with other departments or responsibilities as required.

    • Assists in other departments or with other responsibilities as required.
    • Consistently arrives to work on time and in proper uniform, and appropriately represents Glacier Park, Inc. with professionalism, honesty and integrity.
    • Focuses on growing and efficiently executing the Events segment of the Sales department. Includes; weddings, shows, corporate functions, private groups, banquets and events of all sizes.
    • May assist with growing the Groups segment of the Sales division, including; tour groups, leisure groups, conventions, associations, corporate patronage, etc.
    • Generates leads, communicates, plans, organizes and follows through on execution of agreements and events as required.
    • Consults trade journals, papers and other publications to learn about contemplated wedding shows, conventions and social functions.
    • Organizes prospect files by listing information, such as names of brides and plans for conventions, to be used for promotional purposes.
    • May assist with preparing promotional correspondence with travel bureaus, business and social groups.
    • Confers with department heads to discuss and formulate plans for soliciting and expanding clientele.
    • Contacts prospective clients and organizations to explain services and facilities offered by hotels and to solicit their business.
    • Trains service & event staff representatives as required.
    • Follows company policies and procedures; including our Always Honest policy.
    • Assists in other departments or with other responsibilities as required.

    Ideal Experience

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • One to two years related experience/training required.
    • A valid driver’s license and Passport are required.
    • Solid computer skills required; knowledge of SMS (Springer-Miller Systems) helpful and related software programs preferred.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
    • Must possess the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations.
    • Responds promptly to customer & internal needs and requests.
    • Solicits customer feedback to improve service.

    The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Montana and must be eligible to work in the United States.  

    Work Environment

    • Office setting.
    • Hotel & Event space at various GPC locations
    • Occasional to frequent travel around Montana, intra-state and to Canada.
    • The ability to enter Canada is required.
    • Position requires flexible scheduling and on occasion, long hours including; evenings, weekends, holidays.
    • Position includes event set-up, execution and follow through.
    • Position entails repetitive walking, lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, stair use and lifting/moving of items up to or in excess of 50 pounds.
    • Attendance of trade shows, functions, meetings, seminars, etc.
    • Indoor and outdoor venues may include working in periods of inclement weather.
    • Non-smoking environment.
