  • Overview

    The Asst. Barista Manager is responsible for the daily set up and service of coffee and espresso drinks. Ensures courteous greeting of all patrons. May be responsible for production of snacks and various treats offered. Assists with other duties as necessary.

    Responsibilities

    • Reports to work on time and in uniform
    • Responsible for set up, maintenance, and operation of the espresso area
    • Responsible for production of fudge
    • Collects currency and gives receipt with every transaction
    • Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis
    • Keeps espresso area neat and clean throughout service
    • Maintains effective portion controls in the espresso area using established pouring methods
    • Participates in ongoing training
    • Responsible for following federal, state and Company policies and regulations for serving alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner
    • Takes part in all sales goals and incentive programs. Greets and informs guests of promotions and makes yes-yes choice available to the guest
    • Places orders in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Assists with receiving of merchandise delivers, from both warehouse and direct delivers. Verifies quality, quantity and damages and reports discrepancies to manager
    • Keeps constant vigilance of all customers and employees to ensure that store security policies are enforced. Reports irregularities to manager
    • Maintains proper service and cleanliness of snack bar/self-service food area; including daily vacuuming and mopping
    • May be assigned cash bank and will be responsible for balancing cash at the beginning and end of shift
    • May have to stock refrigeration and/or freezer with food and beverage items
    • Sells merchandise from store
    • Assists with other responsibilities as requested.

    Qualifications

    Ideal Experience

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • 2-4 years’ experience in restaurant/hospitality management program, or equivalent in work experience required.
    • 2-4 years’ experience in supervisory position required, preferably in a high volume dining/restaurant setting.
    • Serving/Bar experience required.
    • Must possess in-depth, working knowledge of service standards.
    • Hospitality POS experience desirable.
    • Efficient knowledge in kitchen operations, cooking and timing expected.
    • Effective knowledge of food, liquor and labor cost controls required.
    • Experience in product inventory.
    • Must demonstrate solid leadership skills. Is able to motivate others.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required.
    • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
    • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.
    • Able to handle guest concerns effectively and in a tactful, caring manner.
    • Writes clearly and precisely.
    • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits

    • Must bring a keen eye for detail, organization, safety and cleanliness to improve GPC front-of-house culinary operations

    The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Montana and must be eligible to work in the United States.  

    Work Environment

    • Restaurant/dining room in a National Park, Hotel setting.
    • Job requires walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs., and repetitive motions.
    • Fast paced, high volume dining setting. Climate control may not be present.
    • Job requires working long hours and varied shifts, including; split shifts, weekends, holidays, etc.
    • Non-smoking environment.
