  • Overview

    As part of the People & Culture Team, will assist in applicant screening, interviewing & hiring, coordination of recruitment, logisitics of transportation, arrivals and onboarding of seasonal & permanent staff. Will assist with questions and concerns and perform other responsibilities as required.


    1. Processes and reviews employment applications to evaluate qualifications and eligibility of applicants
    2. Interviews, selects and places qualified applicants
    3. Conducts employment verification and reference checks
    4. Uses available tools and sound judgement when selecting and/or placing applicants
    5. Develops professional working realtionships with Directors and coworkers
    6. Accepts input from Directors and Department Managers to aide in hiring decisions when necessary
    7. Will process background checks of new hire candidates and notifiy Human Resources Director when employee has failed the criminal background process
    8. Facilitates new hire transportation and arrivals
    9. Assists with employee arrivals and check in as needed
    10. Coordinates pre-employment paperwork in preparation of onboarding
    11. Will assist with and execute employee orientation
    12. Will administer Pay-Pal account to process employment/housing deposits
    13. Will liason with Payroll department to ensure efficient flow of necessary information
    14. Visits Post Office & GPI Mail Room regularly to ensure proper flow of company & employee mail 
    15. Processes basic new hire information, ongoing changes to employemnt records and status' and inputs data to personnel files and HRIS systems
    16. Advertises and posts job vacancies and tracks results of advertising methods
    17. Position does require travel in and around Glacier National Park, surrounding areas and Waterton, Alberta Canada
    18. Represents GPC and the P&C office responsibly and professionally at all times; including at job fairs, recruiting events, career centers, etc.
    19. Occasional travel for recruiting events, conferences, seminars, etc. both domestically and internationally is required
    20. Provides explanation of company policies & procedures to all employees as needed
    21. Coaches & Councils employees and managers at property level during operating season
    22. Assists with other job duties as required


    • Minimum two years Human Resource Generalist experience 
    • Knowledge of the HR Function, principles & procedures of personnel recruitment, selection and placement
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent Human Resources experience is preferred
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Efficient and accurate data entry skills
    • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and adapt to a fast paced, high volume, changing environment 
    • Must be able to handle employee and guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner
    • Must be fimiliar with HRIS and typical administratvie systems, programs and activities
    • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly is imperative
    • Ability to enter Canada and travel internationally
    • A vailid US Passport and drivers lisence

    Work Environment

    • This position is based out of our Columbia Falls headquarters during the off season (October - April)
    • Position does require relocation to our East Glacier offices during summer operating season (May - September)
    • Employee housing and meals are provided at no cost at our East Glacier employee housing complex, during the summer season
    • Working weekends and holidays is required during summer operating season
    • Non smoking environment
